The squat, square-shouldered Maker's Mark bottle — embossed "SIV" medallion, cream-and-black hand-torn label, and that unmistakable hand-dipped red wax seal dripping down the neck — is one of the most photographed shapes in American whiskey. We keep every bit of that identity intact and give it a second life as a daily-driver water pipe. Each piece starts as an empty 750ml Maker's Mark bottle, sourced from local bars and private collections around Loretto and beyond. The original crimson wax dip is preserved exactly as it was poured at the distillery — no two drip patterns are alike, which means no two of these are alike either. The original black-capped cork stopper is retained and functions as the carb seal, keeping the bottle's silhouette completely true to the shelf original. A 14mm clear borosilicate downstem is hand-fit into a precision-cut neck joint, paired with a matching clear glass bowl. The cut is clean, polished, and sealed with a food-grade silicone grommet — no glue, no resin, no shortcuts. Fill it through the mouth of the bottle, cap with the original stopper, and pull smooth through the wide square base. A vintage 1980s Los Hermanos Vin Rosé carafe — hand-blown emerald glass with a pinched pour spout, looped handle, and the original Napa Valley label still intact — reborn as a daily-driver water pipe. Los Hermanos was Beringer Vineyards' affordable label out of St. Helena, and these jug-style decanters were a Northern California dinner-table staple. A vintage Romanian crystal decanter, hand sand-etched with a delicate wildflower motif and crowned with an oversized round stopper — reborn as a one-of-one water pipe. Beam Me Up Jim
A 40 year-old Jim Beam ceramic bourbon decanter given a second life as a one-of-one water pipe. The hand-glazed caramel body is speckled and pooled like poured whiskey, with a fluted bulb base, a ribbed column neck, and a crown-shaped ceramic stopper that has survived four decades intact.
